Is bikepark for you?
Absolutely yes! Bikeparks are not reserved only for professional riders. Most parks offer trails for all skill levels, including gentle green trails ideal for beginners.
If you can ride a bike and want to try something new, bikepark is a great place to start your MTB adventure.
First visit to bikepark – step by step
Choose the right park
Look for a bikepark with green and blue trails. Best options for beginners: Kasina Bikepark, Słotwiny Arena, Tiger Airlines Skolnity (Wisła).
Check rental availability
If you don't have your own enduro/DH bike, most parks offer rental with full protective gear.
Consider a lesson with an instructor
MTB schools operate in most major bikeparks. A 1-2 hour course will let you safely learn technique basics.
Start with the easiest trail
Even if it seems too easy – get to know the park, get comfortable with the bike and lift. You'll move to harder trails later.
Ride at your own pace
Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone develops at their own pace. Focus on technique and gradually increase difficulty.
Which bike to start with?
🚵 Trail / All-Mountain
Travel: 120-150mm | Weight: 12-14kg
Best choice for beginners. Universal bike that works well both on bikepark trails and in terrain. Easy to handle and forgiving of mistakes.
- ✓ Versatility
- ✓ Ease of use
- ✓ Good price
- ✗ Less effective on extreme descents
⛰️ Enduro
Travel: 150-180mm | Weight: 13-15kg
Bike for advanced beginners. Handles harder trails better, but requires more strength on climbs.
- ✓ Great on difficult trails
- ✓ Stability at high speeds
- ✗ Heavier
- ✗ Higher price
🏔️ Downhill (DH)
Travel: 180-220mm | Weight: 15-18kg
Only for descents with lift. Too heavy for beginners – better to rent than buy to start.
- ✓ Maximum stability
- ✓ Best for extreme descents
- ✗ Requires lift
- ✗ Very heavy
- ✗ Expensive

MTB technique basics for beginners
1️⃣ Ready position
Key technique! Slightly bent knees and elbows, body low over bike, pedals level, fingers on brakes.
2️⃣ Braking with both brakes
Use both brakes simultaneously: front ~70%, rear ~30%. Never lock the front wheel – you might fly over the handlebars!
3️⃣ Looking ahead
Look at least 3-5 meters ahead, not at the wheel. The bike goes where you look – it's not a myth!
4️⃣ Body weight back on descents
On steep descents, shift your hips behind the saddle to unload the front wheel and avoid flipping.
5️⃣ Line choice
Choose the smoothest and safest line. You don't have to ride exactly in the middle of the trail – avoid big rocks and roots.

Common beginner mistakes
❌ Moving to harder trails too quickly
Master the basics on green trails. Haste leads to falls and discouragement.
❌ Saving on protective gear
Good helmet and back protector are investment in safety. Don't save on this.
❌ Riding beyond your abilities
Don't let anyone push you onto trails you're not ready for. Black trail can wait – learn technique first.
❌ Ignoring trail rules
Follow traffic rules (rider from below has right of way), signal overtaking, keep distance.
❌ No warm-up
Always do 5-10 minutes warm-up before first descent. Stretch wrists, knees and back.
